What PDF Rotate does
Scanners and phone cameras have a talent for filing pages the wrong way up. One document scans correctly, the back upside down, an attachment in landscape. On screen you then have to tilt your head, and printing it out gets properly annoying. PDF Rotate puts every page in the right orientation without you having to rescan.
The heart of it is the visual preview. Each page appears as a thumbnail rendered with pdf.js right in your browser. You immediately see which page is skewed and turn it with one click by 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. Two clicks make 180 degrees for the upside-down scans.
With multi-select you mark several pages and rotate them together. Or you turn every page at once with a single command when the whole document is in the wrong format. An undo takes back each step in case you slip, so you can experiment freely until everything is right.
For the preview and normal documents everything runs locally in your browser, no upload needed. For very large files, where rendering many thumbnails would get sluggish on weak devices, there is an optional server mode that handles the actual rotation. You decide whether a file leaves your device.
The result is a PDF where every page is oriented the way it should be - readable on screen and correct in print. No watermark, no account for the local mode, no quality loss, because the rotation is stored losslessly in the PDF.
Features
90, 180 and 270 degrees
Turn pages clockwise, counterclockwise or fully upside down - for every skewed scan.
Visual page preview
Each page appears as a thumbnail rendered with pdf.js in the browser so you see exactly what you rotate.
Multi-select
Mark several pages and rotate them together, or select all at once for the whole document.
Undo for every step
Made a mistake? One click undoes the last rotation. Experiment freely until every page fits.
Server mode for large files
For very large PDFs an optional server mode handles the rotation when your device hits its limit.
Lossless rotation
The orientation is stored directly in the PDF. No redrawing of pages, no quality loss.
How it works
- 1
Load your PDF
Drag the file into the window. The tool renders a thumbnail preview for each page.
- 2
Select pages
Click individual pages, select several at once or take all for the whole document.
- 3
Choose the rotation
Turn 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise, or 180 degrees for upside-down pages.
- 4
Save and download
Once everything is straight, download the corrected PDF - locally or via server mode if needed.
Who needs this
Frequently asked questions
Can I rotate individual pages separately?
Yes. Each page has its own rotation. You can turn just the skewed back page and leave the rest untouched, or mark several pages at once.
Does the PDF lose quality from rotating?
No. The rotation is stored as a page property in the PDF, the content is not redrawn. Text stays sharp and selectable, images keep their resolution.
Does rotating happen locally or on a server?
By default everything runs locally in your browser, the preview is rendered with pdf.js. Only for very large files is there an optional server mode you choose deliberately.
Can I rotate all pages at once?
Yes. There is a command that rotates all pages at the same time. That is handy when an entire document is in the wrong format.
Can I undo a wrong rotation?
Yes. An undo takes back each step. You can rotate and undo until every page is oriented correctly.
