What Document Scanner does

The scanner is in the office, you are sitting at home, and the document has to go digital now. A phone photo is taken quickly but usually looks crooked: the page is distorted because you shot it from an angle, the edges do not run parallel. Document Scanner turns such a photo into a proper scan page, as if it came from a real device.

The trick is corner marking. You set the four corners of the document in the photo - top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left - and the tool computes out the perspective distortion. The skewed quadrilateral becomes a straight rectangle, cleanly cropped and straightened.

Presets tune the result to your case. Colour document keeps the colours, black-and-white text makes plain text crisp and high-contrast, photo is meant for pictures, receipt optimises narrow slips, whiteboard brightens photographed boards, and ID fits card formats. Grayscale and an adjustable threshold help with pale or unevenly lit originals.

Because rarely just one page comes up, there is batch scanning: photograph several pages one after another, deskew each individually and export them together at the end as a multi-page PDF. Alternatively you save as PNG or JPG when you only need a single image.

The demanding perspective deskewing is handled by the server, because it needs computing power that would be sluggish on a phone. The tool is set up as a Plus feature. You keep control over your images and end up with straight, readable pages instead of crooked phone photos.

Features

Deskew perspective

Mark the four corners and the tool straightens the angled shot into a level page.

Presets for every case

Colour document, black-and-white text, photo, receipt, whiteboard and ID - depending on what you scan.

Grayscale and threshold

An adjustable threshold and grayscale make pale or unevenly lit originals readable.

Batch scanning

Scan several pages one after another and export them together as one multi-page PDF.

Export as PDF or image

Save the result as a multi-page PDF or as a single PNG or JPG, whatever you need.

Server-side deskewing

The compute-heavy perspective correction runs on the server so it stays fast even on a phone.

How it works

  1. 1

    Take or upload a photo

Photograph the document with your phone or select an existing photo.

  2. 2

    Mark the corners

Drag the four corner points onto the edges of the document so the tool knows what to straighten.

  3. 3

    Pick a preset

Take the matching preset - text, photo, receipt and more - and adjust the threshold if needed.

  4. 4

    Export

Add more pages or export directly as PDF, PNG or JPG.

Who needs this

→Anyone who has to scan a document at home but has no scanner.
→Self-employed people capturing receipts and slips with their phone.
→Students making a photographed whiteboard readable.
→Anyone digitising an ID copy straight and clean.
→Home-office teams quickly sending signed sheets back as PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I mark the corners?

Because a phone photo is almost always taken at an angle. From the four marked corners the tool calculates the perspective distortion and removes it, turning the angled image into a straight page.

Which preset should I use?

For plain text you take black-and-white text, which makes letters high-contrast. For slips there is receipt, for photos the photo preset, for photographed boards whiteboard and for cards the ID preset. Colour document keeps the colours.

Can I scan several pages?

Yes. With batch scanning you capture several pages one after another, deskew each individually and export them together at the end as a multi-page PDF.

In which formats can I save?

As a multi-page PDF when you need a document, or as a single PNG or JPG when you only want an image.

Does the deskewing run on a server?

Yes. The perspective deskewing is compute-heavy and runs server-side so it is fast even on a phone. The tool is set up as a Plus feature.
