What Letterhead Designer does
Anyone writing on business terms needs a letterhead that can do two things at once: look good and carry all mandatory details. Because in Germany business letters are not form-free. Depending on the legal form, Section 35a GmbHG, Section 125a HGB and Section 37a HGB prescribe certain mandatory details - company name, legal form, registered office, register court, commercial register number and the managing directors. If they are missing, warnings and in the worst case fines can follow. The letterhead designer helps you make sure nothing is forgotten.
You start with one of 11 presets matching your legal form: GmbH, UG (limited liability), sole proprietor, freelancer, GbR, association and more. Each preset already brings the details typical for it in the right arrangement, so you only enter your data rather than starting from zero.
The build is modular. You insert elements and arrange them freely: logo, company name, address, contact details, bank account, tax number and VAT ID, commercial register information, managing director, separator lines and custom text. A grid and guides help with exact alignment, so the letterhead looks professional rather than thrown together.
DIN 5008 is built in. The address field sits at the standard-compliant position so the recipient address shows correctly in a window envelope, and the footer takes the mandatory details without overloading the top area. So you combine an attractive look with the standard your customers and your mail expect.
At the end you export the finished letterhead as a PDF and can save it as a template to reuse again and again - for instance as the basis for your letters in the Schreibmaschine or together with the DIN 5008 templates. The designer runs in the browser, your company data stays with you, and you need no expensive graphics software to create a letterhead that is both legally and visually right.

Who needs this
Frequently asked questions
What mandatory details must my business letter contain?
That depends on the legal form. A GmbH must state, under Section 35a GmbHG, the company name, legal form, registered office, register court, commercial register number and all managing directors; registered merchants similar under Section 37a HGB. The letterhead designer already brings these details per preset in the right arrangement.
Is there a preset for freelancers and sole proprietors?
Yes. Alongside GmbH and UG, the 11 presets include ones for sole proprietors, freelancers, GbR and associations. These legal forms have fewer mandatory details, and the matching preset takes that into account.
Is the letterhead DIN 5008 compliant?
Yes. The address field sits at the standard-compliant position per DIN 5008, so the recipient address shows correctly in a window envelope. The mandatory details are placed space-efficiently in the footer.
Can I use my own logo?
Yes. You upload your logo and place it freely in the letterhead. With the grid and guides you align it cleanly to the other elements.
Can I reuse the letterhead?
Yes. You save your letterhead as a template and export it as a PDF. So you reuse it again and again, for example as a basis for letters in the Schreibmaschine or with the DIN 5008 templates.
