The Aktenschrank is the heart of Werkzeu.ge - the place where everything lands that you create with the other tools or upload yourself. Invoices, contracts, official letters, scans, photos, PDFs: instead of spreading them across folders and devices, you have them bundled here, searchable and stored securely. It works like the file manager you know, but server-side - with real storage rather than fleeting browser memory.

Organizing works like on a desk, only faster. Create folders and subfolders, move files by drag and drop, rename them, sort by name, size, date or type and switch between grid and list view. Anyone with many documents assigns tags and finds everything again later without remembering the exact folder.

The real powerhouse is search. The Aktenschrank searches not only file names but the full text of your documents. Text is extracted and indexed from PDFs and images, so you can find an invoice by the contract number inside it, even if the file is named something else entirely. Indexing runs in the background, so the upload is still done instantly.

Security is built in, not bolted on. Every uploaded file is automatically checked by a virus scanner before it lands in your store. Deleted files first go to the trash and can be restored from there if you were too quick. And everything sits on European servers (Hetzner Object Storage), not with a US corporation.

Preview and download are fast. The preview pane shows PDFs, images and many Office formats directly, without downloading them. Need several files at once? The Aktenschrank packs them into a ZIP for download. Individual files are downloaded with one click or Ctrl+D, new ones uploaded with Ctrl+U.

The Aktenschrank is also the counterpart for every other tool: when a tool produces a document - an invoice, a letter, a scan - it can be archived right here, complete with its origin and tags.
