What Signature Tool does
The classic signature procedure is absurdly cumbersome: print the document, sign, scan it back, and the result is crooked and gray. The signature tool breaks this cycle and creates a clean, digital signature you can place into your documents as often and as precisely as you like - no printer, no scanner, no skew.
You have three routes to a signature. Draw lets you sign directly on a canvas with mouse, trackpad or finger - just like on paper. Type turns your name into a handwritten-looking signature with a choice of handwriting fonts. Upload takes a photo of your real signature and cuts it out so the white background disappears.
For the typed variant there are ready styles that fit the occasion: from a formal signature through a more casual variant to a compact or extra-large form. Additionally there are plain initials for quick signing off and a paraph - the short mark you use to initial each page of a contract without signing in full every time.
On export you pick the format by purpose. PNG with a transparent background is the best choice for laying the signature losslessly over a PDF or contract. SVG stays razor-sharp at any size, ideal for templates and letterheads. JPEG is the classic when a simple image is enough.
Generation runs server-side so the signature is optimized and cleanly cut out - especially when uploading a photo, that is the difference between a gray box and a real, transparent signature. You drop the result straight into your documents, for example into a contract edited with the PDF editor.
Important and honest: an inserted image signature is convenient and perfectly sufficient for many everyday documents, but it is not a qualified electronic signature (QES) under the eIDAS regulation. For contracts that strictly require written form, or for legally binding digital signatures, you need a corresponding QES procedure. For signature images, paraphs and normal correspondence, this tool is exactly right.

Frequently asked questions
Is the signature legally binding?
A signature inserted as an image is sufficient for many everyday documents and simple correspondence, but it is not a qualified electronic signature under the eIDAS regulation. For contracts that strictly require the statutory written form you need either a handwritten signature on paper or a recognized QES procedure.
Which format should I use for a PDF?
PNG with a transparent background is the best choice for laying your signature over a PDF because no white box hides the text underneath. If you need the signature at different sizes, for example on a letterhead, use SVG - it stays sharp at any scale.
What is the difference between initials and a paraph?
Initials are simply your first letters. A paraph is the handwritten short mark used to initial individual pages of a contract without signing in full each time. Both are available as their own styles so you have the right form for every situation.
Can I use a photo of my real signature?
Yes. Sign on a white sheet, photograph it and upload the image. The server-side optimization cuts out the signature, removes the background and turns it into a transparent signature you can insert cleanly. The photo should be well lit and high in contrast.
Are my signatures stored?
The signature is processed for optimization and provided to you as a file for download. It belongs to you - you decide where you use and keep it. Treat your digital signature carefully, because like your handwritten one it is a personal mark that should not fall into others’ hands.
