Signature Tool

The classic signature procedure is absurdly cumbersome: print the document, sign, scan it back, and the result is crooked and gray. The signature tool cuts that short: you make your signature once and place it into your PDF as often as you like.

You have three ways to a signature. Draw lets you sign directly on a pad with mouse, trackpad or finger - also on a phone. A photo or scan of your real signature is cut out so the white background disappears. And you can type your name in a script font - that is a typed name, not a handwritten signature.

Signing a PDF works like this: choose the PDF, tap a signature, tap the spot in the PDF where it should go. Then you can move it and drag it bigger or smaller. For initials on every page there is a button that places them at the same spot on all pages. You download the signed PDF or keep it in your Aktenschrank. Signing happens in your browser; the PDF is not sent to a server for it.

As an image you get your signature as a PNG with a transparent background, as a JPEG with a white background or - if you drew it - as an SVG made from your real lines that stays sharp at any size. The empty margin can be cut away.

You can save up to ten signatures. With Plus they live in your account, so they are still there after logging out and on other devices.

Important and honest: what you make here is a simple electronic signature - an image of your signature. For many everyday things that is enough. Where German law requires a pen signature on paper, it is not, for example to quit a job or a flat, for a fixed-term employment contract, a guarantee or a flat lease for more than one year. Then: print it, sign with a pen, send it by post.
