Scientific Calculator

The scientific calculator for everything beyond plus and minus. Sine, cosine, tangent, logarithms, roots, powers, factorial, parentheses, constants like Pi and e, switchable between degrees and radians - with memory keys and a history, fully keyboard-operable.

What Scientific Calculator does

When the simple calculator no longer cuts it, the Scientific Calculator takes over. It does not work key by key but evaluates a whole expression: you can write out a complete formula with brackets, several operations and functions and get exactly one result at the end. That is the way you know from physics or maths class, just without the expensive plastic device.

On board are the trigonometric functions sine, cosine and tangent along with their inverses, the base-10 and the natural logarithm, the square root, free powers via the caret sign, the square as its own key, the reciprocal and the factorial. There are also the constants Pi and Euler number e, which you can drop straight into your calculation.

For the angle functions there is a switch between degrees and radians, clearly visible at the top of the display. That is the difference where most mistakes happen in practice: the sine of 45 in degrees is something entirely different from in radians. The calculator always shows clearly which mode you are in, so you never accidentally calculate in the wrong one.

The four memory keys work like on a classic desktop calculator: store to memory, recall from memory, add to it and subtract from it. That lets you collect interim results without noting them down anywhere. A small M in the display reminds you that a value is currently in memory. There is also a history of recent calculations from which you bring back any expression with a click and reuse it.

Under the hood sits a clean formula parser, not a risky evaluation of arbitrary code. It handles implicit multiplication, so 2 Pi or 2(3) mean exactly what you expect, and it recognises signs and bracket structures correctly. If something does go wrong - the root of a negative number, the logarithm of zero, an undefined tangent point or mismatched brackets - you get no cryptic error but a clear message with a wink.

The whole calculator is keyboard-operable: digits, operators, brackets, caret for powers, the exclamation mark for factorial, Enter to evaluate and Escape to clear. Results are formatted with a comma or a dot depending on the language and announced for screen readers. Everything runs locally in the browser, with no account, no signup and without your calculations leaving the device.

Features

Trigonometry and its inverses

Sine, cosine, tangent plus arcsine, arccosine and arctangent - for geometry, physics and engineering.

Logarithms, roots, powers

Base-10 log, natural log, square root, free powers, square, reciprocal and factorial on dedicated keys.

Degrees and radians switch

A visible switch in the display toggles between DEG and RAD, so angle functions never compute in the wrong mode.

Four memory keys

MC, MR, M+ and M- as on a desktop calculator. An M in the display shows a value is stored.

Brackets and constants

Full bracketed calculation with the constants Pi and e, including implicit multiplication for expressions like 2 Pi.

History to recall

Recent calculations remain in a list. Clicking an entry brings the expression and result back.

Full keyboard control

Digits, operators, brackets, caret, exclamation mark, Enter and Escape all work straight from the keyboard.

How it works

  1. 1

    Enter an expression

Write your whole formula into the field or tap it out on the keys, including brackets, functions and constants.

  2. 2

    Check the angle mode

For angle functions, glance at whether DEG or RAD is shown at the top and switch if needed.

  3. 3

    Calculate

Press equals or hit Enter. The result appears and moves into the history.

  4. 4

    Use memory or history

Collect interim results with M+ and recall them with MR, or bring back earlier calculations from the history.

Who needs this

→Pupils and students in maths, physics and engineering who need a scientific calculator.
→Anyone doing trigonometry or logarithms without buying an expensive device.
→Engineering and trade tasks involving angles, roots and powers.
→Multi-step calculations where memory and history keep interim results.
→People who prefer typing the whole formula over clicking it key by key.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between degrees and radians?

Degrees divide the full circle into 360 parts, radians measure angles in multiples of Pi. Angle functions return different values depending on the mode. The calculator shows DEG or RAD at the top, and you switch with a click.

How do I calculate a factorial or a root?

For a factorial write the exclamation mark after the number or use the n! key. Factorials only work for whole, non-negative numbers. For the square root pick the root symbol and put the value in the bracket.

Can I enter whole formulas with brackets?

Yes. The calculator evaluates a complete expression with brackets, several operations and functions and respects the correct order of operations. It also understands implicit multiplication, such as 2 Pi or 2(3).

How do the memory keys work?

MR recalls the stored value, M+ adds the current value to it, M- subtracts it and MC clears the memory. An M in the display shows that something is currently stored.

What happens with an invalid calculation?

The root of a negative number, the log of zero, an undefined tangent point or mismatched brackets produce a clear, friendly error message instead of a cryptic symbol. Your input stays intact.

Are my calculations stored or transmitted?

No. The calculator runs entirely locally in the browser, with no account and no data transfer. The history stays in your session and works offline too.
