What Calculator does
Sometimes you do not want a clever special-purpose calculator, you just want to quickly add two numbers or divide a total by three. That is exactly what this calculator is for: the four basic operations, percentages and a few handy extra keys, neatly laid out in a keypad just like the calculator you already know. No frills, no learning curve, start straight away.
The best part is that you never have to touch the mouse. All the digits, the operators, Enter for equals, Escape to clear and Backspace to correct work straight from the keyboard. If you calculate a lot, that is far faster than clicking each key. The percent key and the Delete key are mapped too, and H toggles the history in and out.
The history is the quiet hero. Every completed calculation lands as a line in the log, complete with the sum and the result. You can click an older entry any time to bring its result back into the display and keep calculating from there. That saves the tedious copying of interim results when a calculation runs over several steps.
The percent key follows the logic you expect in everyday life: if a calculation like 200 plus something is already in play, percent works out the share of the first value. Otherwise the current number is simply divided by 100. There is also a sign key to switch quickly between plus and minus, and a separate key for clearing the last entry versus a full reset.
The tool is bilingual and adapts: in German it calculates and displays with a comma as the decimal separator, in English with a dot. A click on the result copies it to the clipboard, always with a dot, so you can paste the value straight into spreadsheets or other programs. And because accessibility should not be an afterthought, the calculator announces results and errors cleanly for screen readers.

Can I operate the calculator entirely by keyboard?
Yes. Digits, the operators plus, minus, star and slash, Enter for equals, Escape to clear, Backspace to correct and the percent sign are all mapped. The H key toggles the history.
How does the percent key work?
If a calculation like 200 plus is already in play, the percent key works out the share of the first value. Without an ongoing calculation it simply divides the current number by 100.
Is my history saved?
The history keeps the most recent calculations of your session and lets you recall any result with a click. There is a button to clear it at any time.
Why does copying insert a dot instead of a comma?
When copying, the calculator always uses a dot as the decimal separator so you can paste the value straight into spreadsheets and other software that expects a dot.
What happens when I divide by zero?
Instead of a cryptic symbol the calculator shows a clear, friendly error message. Your previous input is not lost in the process.
Are my numbers sent to a server?
No. The calculator runs entirely locally in your browser, with no account and no data transfer. It works offline too.
