Receipt Box

Every freelancer knows the box. Or the drawer, the wallet pocket, the envelope labeled "taxes". Inside: register receipts slowly fading, invoices nobody assigned, and the guilty conscience that turns into panic in January. The Belegbox is where receipts arrive while they are still legible - photographed the moment they land in your hand.

The flow: photograph or upload a receipt, several in a row if you like - the batch queue works through them one by one while you snap the next. Text recognition reads the receipt and extracts what bookkeeping needs: amount, date, merchant, VAT rate and payment method.

And now the sentence other receipt apps will not tell you: the extraction guesses. Receipts are crumpled, thermal paper fades, and every merchant prints differently. That is why the Belegbox honestly marks uncertain values with "guessed - please check" instead of playing you a perfect world that your tax advisor will later throw back at you. You check briefly, correct where needed, and only then is anything booked. Control instead of blind flight.

For every receipt the Belegbox suggests an EÜR category - office supplies, entertainment expenses, travel costs and so on - so you do not have to re-decide where each slip belongs. Meanwhile the original lands in the Aktenschrank automatically: named after the pattern Beleg_Date_Merchant_Amount and filed under /Buchhaltung/Belege/{year}. When you hunt for that one receipt three years from now, you will find it - by date, merchant or amount, not by "somewhere in the box".

The last step is the best one: "Als Buchung übernehmen" writes the checked receipt directly as an entry into the EÜR-Assistent. No retyping into a spreadsheet, no second data entry in a bookkeeping tool. Photograph, check, adopt - your income surplus statement grows on the side, with the receipt linked right behind it.

Transparency on privacy: unlike our client-only tools, the Belegbox text recognition runs once over our server - the image is processed there and not stored. Only what you choose to keep is stored: the receipt in your Aktenschrank and the entry in the EÜR-Assistent. On German servers, naturally.

The Belegbox is not a bookkeeping degree and does not want to be one. It answers a single question: how does the receipt get from my hand into my EÜR before it fades, gets lost or molders in the box? Answer: photograph, check, adopt. Ten seconds instead of January panic.
