EUeR CSV Parser

Your business account spits out a CSV export, and then you sit there typing every transaction by hand into your EÜR - it does not have to be this way. The EÜR CSV Parser automatically detects the format of twelve German banks, sorts your transactions into business income and expenses, recognizes the VAT contained and gives you a monthly breakdown. All in the browser, no account access, no transfer.

What EUeR CSV Parser does

The most tedious part of bookkeeping is rarely the calculating but the typing. You export your account transactions as CSV, and then every line has to go into the right EÜR category - income or expense, which type, with which VAT. The EÜR CSV Parser takes this mechanical part off your hands by reading the file, detecting the bank format and pre-sorting the transactions for you.

The problem with bank CSVs is that every bank cooks up its own format: different column order, different date formats, different labels for amount and reference. The parser knows the formats of twelve common German banks - including Sparkasse, DKB, ING, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, Volksbank, N26, comdirect, Postbank, HypoVereinsbank, Targobank and GLS - and automatically detects which one it is looking at. You do not have to map any columns manually.

After importing, the parser categorizes the transactions. Based on amount, sign and reference it suggests whether it is a business income or expense and which category fits. You confirm or correct the assignment, and with each correction the picture gets cleaner. That is considerably faster than starting from zero.

The VAT detection is the second time-saver. The parser shows the VAT or input tax contained in the amounts so your EÜR and the advance VAT return match up. Small businesses under Section 19 UStG that show no VAT work on a gross basis - the parser handles that too.

At the end you get a monthly breakdown that shows how income and expenses spread over the year and where the biggest items lie. You can export the result and hand it to your EÜR or the EÜR Assistant instead of retyping it. This turns your bank's CSV clutter into an orderly basis for your taxes.

The parser runs entirely in your browser. Your account transactions are not uploaded, there is no account access and no transfer to a server - the most sensitive data you have stays on your device. The parser is a recording tool and not tax advice: whether a transaction is business or private and how it is to be classified you decide, when in doubt with your tax advisor.

How it works

  1. 1

    Export the CSV

Download your account statement as CSV from online banking - the parser knows the common formats.

  2. 2

    Load the file

Drop the CSV into the parser. It detects the bank automatically and reads the transactions.

  3. 3

    Check the assignment

Confirm or correct the suggested categories and VAT detection per transaction.

  4. 4

    Export the breakdown

Take the monthly breakdown into your EÜR or hand it to the EÜR Assistant.

Who needs this

Freelancers who do not want to type their business account line by line.
Self-employed people with many transactions who need to pre-sort quickly.
Small businesses needing a clean breakdown on a gross basis.
Anyone who wants the VAT contained shown automatically.
Privacy-minded users who do not want to upload their bank data.

Frequently asked questions

Which banks are recognized?

The parser recognizes the CSV format of twelve common German banks, including Sparkasse, DKB, ING, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, Volksbank, N26, comdirect, Postbank, HypoVereinsbank, Targobank and GLS. The bank is determined automatically, you do not have to set anything.

Do I have to enter my bank login?

No, never. The parser works exclusively with the CSV file you export yourself from online banking. There is no account access and no connection to your bank - your login details stay completely out of it.

How reliable is the automatic categorization?

The parser suggests categories based on amount, sign and reference - that is often right, but not always. You confirm or correct the assignment, and with each correction the result gets cleaner. The final decision whether a transaction is business-related is yours.

Does the parser detect VAT?

Yes. It shows the VAT and input tax contained in the amounts so your EÜR and the advance VAT return match up. Small businesses under Section 19 UStG work on a gross basis, which the parser also handles.

Are my account transactions uploaded?

No. The parser runs entirely in your browser. Your CSV file is not sent to a server, nothing is transferred. Your account transactions - the most sensitive data you have - stay on your device.

Does the parser replace my EÜR?

No. The parser prepares your account transactions and hands them in an orderly form to your EÜR or the EÜR Assistant. Creating and filing the EÜR and the tax classification remain your task. The tool is not tax advice.
