Net Worth Tracker

What is actually left over once every debt is subtracted? The Net Worth Tracker adds up assets and liabilities, shows your net worth honestly and unflinchingly, and uses snapshots and trend charts to make it visible whether things are going up or down. No spreadsheet chaos, no app that harvests your bank data.

What Net Worth Tracker does

Most people know their salary down to the euro but only have a vague feeling about their wealth. A checking account here, an old ETF savings plan there, a property with a remaining mortgage, the car loan, a bit of crypto from a braver phase. Only when you write it all on one sheet and subtract the debts does the one number that really counts appear: net worth. That is exactly what the Net Worth Tracker produces at the press of a button.

You enter your assets into clear categories - checking, savings, fixed deposits, stocks and ETFs, real estate, crypto, cash and other. On the other side sit the liabilities: mortgage, consumer loan, student loan, credit card debt and other. The tool subtracts one from the other and shows total assets, total liabilities and net worth side by side. Green when positive, red when you are still in the minus, with no sugar-coating.

The real trick is the history. Every entry is a snapshot with a date. Add one regularly, say once a month or once a quarter, and a timeline emerges that you see as a line chart: assets, liabilities and net worth over the months. Only that curve tells you whether your savings plan actually works or whether inflation and living costs eat it all back up. The change since the last snapshot is shown directly in euros and percent.

So you do not have to start from zero, there are eight thought-out presets - from the career starter with a student loan, through the mid-30s family with a mortgage, to the retiree with a paid-off house. Load one as a starting point, adjust the numbers to your situation and you have a realistic picture. The presets are also useful for orientation: where do you stand compared with a typical life stage?

A net worth target sets the course. Enter a target amount, optionally with a target date, and the tracker shows a progress bar plus a rough projection of how many months you still need at your current saving pace. This is not a financial adviser promise, it is an honest trend calculation from your own snapshots. Motivating when the bar grows, a wake-up call when it stalls.

The allocation view shows as a pie chart how your wealth is distributed. Is everything clumped in the savings account where inflation slowly eats it? Is almost all your wealth in a single property? A glance at the pie answers the diversification question faster than any table. For your records you can export every snapshot as CSV.

Your numbers stay your numbers. The entire tracker runs in the browser and saves locally on your device. No bank login, no open-banking scraping, no transfer to a server you do not know. On the subject of wealth in particular, that is not a nice-to-have but the basic requirement. What your account says is nobody business but yours.

How it works

  1. 1

    Create your first snapshot

Click Snapshot, pick a date and enter your assets and liabilities into the categories. A single value is enough to start.

  2. 2

    Read off your net worth

The dashboard shows total assets, total liabilities and net worth. Positive in green, negative in red, no sugar-coating.

  3. 3

    Update regularly

Add a new snapshot every month or quarter. Only then does the trend chart draw your real trajectory.

  4. 4

    Set and track a target

Enter a target amount and watch the progress bar. The projection estimates how long you need at your current pace.

Who needs this

→Savers who want to see whether their wealth really grows month after month.
→Families with a mortgage keeping property value and remaining debt in view.
→Self-employed people without a fixed pension documenting their reserves.
→Anyone wanting to place their net worth honestly without involving the bank.
→People with a big savings goal who want to make their progress visible.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to connect my bank?

No. There is no open banking and no account login. You enter the values yourself. That is exactly why your financial data stays entirely with you on your device.

How often should I create a snapshot?

A rhythm of once a month or once a quarter is plenty. What matters is consistency, because only several snapshots produce a meaningful trend chart and a projection.

How is net worth calculated?

Net worth is the sum of all assets minus the sum of all liabilities. Everything you own minus every debt. A property counts as an asset at its value, the remaining mortgage debt as a liability.

Are my data stored in the cloud?

No, the tracker saves locally in your device browser. If you clear the browser storage the data is gone, which is why the CSV export is worth keeping as a backup.

Is the target projection financial advice?

No. The projection simply extrapolates your past saving trend linearly and says nothing about returns, risks or market movements. It is a motivation tool, not an investment promise.

Can I combine several accounts and portfolios?

Yes. Simply add up all checking accounts, all ETF portfolios and so on, and enter the total per category. For a finer breakdown use the Other field.
