Cancellation Deadline Monitor

The silent contract renewal is one of the most expensive annoyances of German everyday life. The legislator did defuse automatic renewal with the Fair Consumer Contracts Act - for contracts concluded after March 2022 only monthly cancellation is permitted afterwards - but older contracts, insurance policies and many special cases still bind you for a whole year if you miss the deadline. The monitor makes sure that exactly this no longer happens.

Instead of scattering cancellation deadlines across a calendar, a notes app and your head, you enter each contract once: name, category, contract start, term and cancellation deadline. The monitor calculates the latest cancellation date from this and shows for each contract how many days you have left. One glance and you know where action is needed.

The core is the colour-coded urgency. Contracts whose deadline is still far off appear calm, those with an approaching deadline change colour, and what must be cancelled now catches the eye immediately. That way you work through your list not chronologically but by real priority - no contract slips through just because it looks inconspicuous.

The contracts are organised by category: housing and rent, insurance, mobile, streaming, fitness and more. Each category has its own colour so you see at a glance where your fixed costs accumulate. Ready-made templates with typical cancellation deadlines pre-fill common contract types so you do not have to hunt through the fine print for the deadline every time.

The monitor runs entirely in your browser and stores your contracts locally on your device. This is deliberate: your contract data is sensitive and has no business on someone else's server. For each contract you can add notes such as contract and customer number so you have everything to hand when cancelling.

In the end it is about money and nerves. Every contract you cancel in time or deliberately let run on is a decision you make - not one the fine print makes for you. The monitor turns the tedious remembering of deadlines into a calm overview that nudges you in time instead of annoying you afterwards.
