What Team Meeting does
Every video call starts with the same ritual: "Can you hear me?" - "Hold on, I need to install the app first." - "Which account? I do not have an account there." Ten minutes later a quarter of the meeting is gone. Dienstbesprechung cuts the ritual down to one click: you send a link, the other side opens it in the browser and sits in the meeting. No install, no registration, no app store.
That is more than convenience - it is the difference between a meeting that happens and one that dies at your customer's IT department. Especially when you talk to clients, customers or officials who do not sit in video calls every day, this is what counts: click the link, type a name, you are in.
To stop unwanted guests, the lobby is a hard media boundary: while it is enabled, external link holders receive no room token and cannot hear or see the meeting. Turn it off deliberately when the invited guests are ready. Screen sharing and ICS scheduling are included.
The real difference sits under the hood, though: Dienstbesprechung runs on werkzeu.ge's own servers in Nuremberg, on self-hosted open-source technology (LiveKit). No US cloud, no data flowing off to a corporation that maintains ad profiles on the side. As little as possible is stored - data frugality is not a marketing word here but a construction principle. For conversations about contracts, finances, staff or health, that is not a side issue.
Honesty is part of the deal: Dienstbesprechung is built for meetings, not webinars with five hundred spectators. Currently up to 10 participants per meeting, up to 50 with a team setup. For dailies, client calls, consultations and team rounds that is plenty - for the corporate town hall, pick something else.
And soon comes the part we are most excited about ourselves: meeting minutes via local speech recognition. Transcription will then run on our own servers - no cloud AI, no generative AI, no training on your data. Your conversation stays your conversation; the machine just takes notes.

Guests without install or account

Frequently asked questions
Do my guests really not have to install anything?
Really nothing. Guests open the link in a browser and enter their name. With the lobby active they receive no media access yet; the host deliberately disables it when everyone is ready. No account, app or download.
Where do the meetings run - and what happens to my data?
On werkzeu.ge's own servers in Nuremberg, with self-hosted open-source technology (LiveKit). No US cloud, no third party listening in or collecting metadata. As little as possible is stored - the meeting itself is not recorded. For confidential conversations about contracts, numbers or staff, that is exactly the point.
How many people fit in a meeting?
Currently up to 10 participants per meeting, up to 50 with a team setup. That covers client calls, consultations, dailies and team rounds. Dienstbesprechung is not built for webinars with a large audience - we would rather tell you before than after.
Is this a Zoom or Teams alternative?
For meetings with customers and in a small team: yes. The difference: your guests need no app and no account, and the data runs through German servers instead of a US cloud - relevant since GDPR supervisory authorities keep eyeing US video services critically. What is (still) missing: recordings, breakout rooms, giant webinars. For the everyday of a freelancer or small team, everything you need is there.
What does Dienstbesprechung cost?
Dienstbesprechung is part of the Plus plan (16.99 euros per month or 169.90 euros per year, VAT included). Your guests pay nothing and need no account - only the host is Plus. Until November 30, 2026 there is tiered founder pricing - the earlier you join, the cheaper, and your price stays locked for as long as you stay subscribed.
What about automatic meeting minutes?
Coming soon - and exactly the way we want it ourselves: speech recognition runs locally on our own servers. No cloud AI, no generative AI, no training on your data. Your meeting content never leaves the infrastructure; the machine just takes notes. Until then: Notizblock on the second monitor.
