Voice Recorder

Red button, mic on, start talking. The Voice Recorder captures your voice right in the browser, shows a live waveform while you speak, and lets you pause and resume any time. Nothing is uploaded, nothing lands on a server - your voice stays with you.

A live look inside

Live preview. It becomes interactive with your account.

What Voice Recorder does

A voice note is faster typed than written - sorry, faster spoken than typed. Capturing an idea before it slips away. Pre-formulating a thought for a meeting. Saving the pronunciation of a name for later. For all of this you need no app and no registration, just a button. The Voice Recorder gives you exactly that button.

When you start, the browser asks once for permission to use your microphone. After that, one click on the big red record button is enough and off you go. While you speak, a live waveform dances to your voice - so you can see at a glance that the microphone really is picking something up and not running silently. A running timer shows the duration.

You can pause the recording any time, say to take a sip of water or gather a thought, and pick up seamlessly afterwards. The timer remembers the time already recorded, so nothing gets muddled. When you are done, you stop and immediately get a player to listen back to the recording.

The decisive point is privacy. The entire recording is created solely in your browser using built-in web standards. There is no upload, no server listening in, no cloud storing your voice. That matters when you speak confidential notes, mention sensitive names, or simply do not want your voice ending up somewhere on the net. What you say stays between you and your device.

Once the recording is done, you download it as an audio file with one click. If it is not right, you discard it and record a new one - without old attempts lingering anywhere. The file name automatically includes the date so you can tell your recordings apart later.

The Voice Recorder is part of the media tools at werkzeu.ge. If you want to trim the recording afterwards, level the volume, or convert it to another format, the right tools are right next door - all in the same browser, all without an account.

Frequently asked questions

Is my voice recording uploaded?

No. The entire recording is created in your browser. There is no upload and no server listening in. The recording stays on your device until you download it.

Why is the microphone not recording?

Usually the permission is missing. Allow your browser access to the microphone when asked and check that a microphone is connected and selected. The live waveform shows you whether sound is arriving.

In which format is the recording saved?

The recording is saved in the audio format your browser uses for microphone captures, usually WebM or OGG. Both can be converted with the Audio Converter if needed.

Can I pause the recording?

Yes. You can pause the recording any time and continue seamlessly. The timer correctly resumes from the time already recorded.

Is there a length limit?

There is no fixed time limit. For very long recordings, keep in mind that the file grows accordingly and is held in your device memory.
