What Screen Recorder does
Sometimes a video is the fastest answer. A colleague does not get the form? Show them instead of describing it. A bug keeps coming back? Record it instead of explaining it in three paragraphs. The Screen Recorder makes exactly that possible without first downloading and setting up a heavyweight piece of software.
When you start, your browser asks what you want to capture: the whole screen, a specific application window, or just a single tab. You decide what gets shared - nothing runs secretly in the background. During recording you see a live preview and a running timer, so you always know where you stand. Pause and resume are one click away.
People who explain usually want to talk too. That is why you can switch on your microphone. The sound from the screen and your voice are mixed together cleanly, so viewers hear both the system audio and your explanation. Leave the microphone box unchecked and you get a silent or system-audio-only recording - exactly as you need it.
The entire recording is created in your browser using built-in web standards. There is no upload, no server that gets to see your video, no cloud storing your screen contents. That matters especially when you show sensitive material - internal tools, customer data, an official form with personal details. What happens on your screen stays between you and your hard drive.
As soon as you stop, the video is assembled as a WebM file and you can watch it right in the built-in player. Happy with it? Download it. Not happy? Start a new recording with one click. The browser native stop button is recognised too: end the sharing from the browser bar and the recording is finished cleanly.
The Screen Recorder is made for tutorials, short explainers, bug reports, feedback clips, and product demos. It does not replace a professional editing suite, but that is exactly the point: for a quick, honest capture you do not need 500-euro software and half an hour of onboarding, just a button.

Who needs this
Frequently asked questions
Do I need software or an extension?
No. The Screen Recorder uses the built-in capture features of modern browsers. You need no app, no plugin, and no extension.
Can I record my voice too?
Yes. Tick the microphone box before you start. Your voice is then mixed with the screen audio so viewers hear both.
Is my video uploaded or stored?
No. The entire recording is created in your browser. There is no upload and no server that gets to see the video. It stays on your device.
In which format is the video saved?
The recording is saved as a WebM file. WebM is supported by all modern browsers and most players, and can be converted further if needed.
Why does no recording prompt appear?
The Screen Recorder only works in browsers that support the relevant web interface. Update your browser and allow screen sharing when prompted.
