Spell Checker

Typos happen to everyone. They only get embarrassing once they land in the cover letter to a new employer, the email to the authority or the quote to a client. The spell checker reads your text before anyone else does - and explains what the problem is for every finding instead of just underlining things in red.

It checks more than pure spelling: capitalisation at sentence starts and for German nouns, compound words (the German speciality every simple word list fails at - the compound check decomposes word monsters into their parts), double spaces, repeated words, missing punctuation. On request it also flags anglicisms, each with a German suggestion, in case you want or need to write formally.

Every finding comes with suggestions you apply with one click. The diff view then shows cleanly what changed - original and corrected version side by side, word by word. You stay in control instead of blindly trusting an automatism.

Technical terms, proper names and company jargon are easy to teach the tool: one click stores them in your custom dictionary, which stays in your browser and can be exported and re-imported as a plain text file. In the next text your terms are no longer "errors".

Checking runs on the werkzeu.ge server with our own dictionary and rule engine - your text is transmitted for the check, but it is not stored and not passed to third parties. And one honest note belongs here: no automatic check finds every mistake. For the contract going to the Amt it does not replace attentive proofreading - it just makes sure far less is left to find.
