What Seasonal Push Notifications does
The German tax calendar is packed: VAT advance returns monthly or quarterly, income tax prepayments on 10 March, June, September and December, the annual return, trade tax, payroll tax, property tax and various ELSTER dates. Lose track and you risk late-filing penalties under Section 152 AO - and those can get expensive.
The tool flips it around: you pick your profile - employee, self-employed or corporation - and the calendar shows only the deadlines that actually concern you. An employee sees the filing deadline and allowances, a self-employed person also advance returns and prepayments, a corporation the corporate and trade tax dates. No noise, just your dates.
Every deadline is categorized and colour-coded - income tax, VAT, trade tax, payroll tax, property tax, ELSTER procedures and other. On top comes a priority from critical to low, so you see what must never slip. Each date has a short explanation and the matching legal basis from the Fiscal Code.
The legal references are not decoration. Deadline calculation follows Section 108 AO, filing deadlines Section 149 AO and late-filing penalties Section 152 AO. If a deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday it shifts to the next working day - the tool accounts for this rule so you are not a day late.
You can view the deadlines as a timeline, as a list or grouped by month, and set reminders per date - say 30, 14 or 7 days ahead. That way you get the nudge while there is still time to act, not on the due date itself. Your configuration is stored locally.
The ICS export is the highlight: one click and your personal tax calendar lands in Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar or any other app that understands the standard - including the reminders you set. So the dates surface where you already look.
The seasonal push notifications are an organizational aid, not tax advice. Whether a particular deadline applies to you, and how special cases or a tax advisor authorization affect your dates, is best clarified with your tax office or advisor when in doubt.

Who needs this
Frequently asked questions
Which tax deadlines does the tool cover?
The complete German tax calendar: VAT advance returns, income tax prepayments (10 March, June, September, December), the annual return, trade tax, payroll tax, property tax and ELSTER procedure dates. Depending on your profile you see only the ones relevant to you.
What if a deadline falls on a weekend?
Under Section 108 AO a deadline falling on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday shifts to the next working day. The tool accounts for this shift so you do not accidentally file a day late.
How does the ICS export work?
You download an ICS file with your personalized tax calendar and import it into Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar or any app that understands the ICS standard. The reminders you set are carried over.
What is a late-filing penalty?
If you file a tax return late, the tax office can impose a late-filing penalty under Section 152 AO. After more than 14 months' delay it is generally mandatory and amounts to at least EUR 25 per started month. Timely reminders help you avoid exactly that.
Is my data stored or sent anywhere?
Your profile and reminder settings are stored locally in your browser. The ICS file is generated on your device. No tax date goes to a third-party server that you do not share yourself via your calendar app.
Does the calendar replace a tax advisor?
No. The tool is an organizational aid for deadlines, not tax advice. Whether a deadline specifically applies to you, how a tax advisor authorization affects extended filing deadlines, and how special cases are handled is best clarified with your tax office or advisor.
