Markdown Preview

Write on the left, watch on the right. The Markdown Preview shows in real time how your text will look - with split view, a toolbar, syntax highlighting for code blocks and proper tables. Done? Export as Markdown, HTML or PDF without detouring through another app.

A live look inside

Live preview. It becomes interactive with your account.

What Markdown Preview does

Markdown is the fastest way to write formatted text without lifting your hands off the keyboard. Two asterisks for bold, a hash for a heading, a hyphen for a bullet - the rest happens by itself. The Markdown Preview turns that into a tool you actually enjoy: you type, and the formatted version appears right beside it.

The heart of it is the split view. Your raw text on the left, the preview on the right, synced live. Prefer to write without distraction? Flip to editor only. Just want to read? Preview only. Three modes, one click between them, so the view always fits your task.

The toolbar handles the syntax when you cannot recall it. Bold, italic, heading, link, list, code block, table - one button drops the right characters in the right spot. That way people just learning Markdown get along fine while pros simply type through.

Code blocks render with syntax highlighting and tables render cleanly - full GFM (GitHub Flavored Markdown) on export. For developers writing a README, for anyone maintaining docs, and for everyone who occasionally wants to show a code snippet properly.

With multiple document tabs you work on several texts in parallel without constantly swapping files. Templates give you a starting point when the blank page freezes you. And what you type is auto-saved locally every two seconds, so an accidentally closed tab is never a disaster.

In the end the export is what counts. Markdown to hand off to other tools, HTML for the website, PDF for the printable, shareable final version. Everything runs in your browser, your texts stay with you, no account strictly required.

Frequently asked questions

What even is Markdown?

Markdown is a simple markup language for writing formatted text using only keyboard characters. A hash makes a heading, asterisks make bold or italic, a hyphen makes a bullet. The preview shows you at once how it renders.

Can I export my document as a PDF?

Yes. Alongside Markdown and HTML you can export your document straight to PDF - ready to print or send, without detouring through another app.

Are code blocks shown with syntax highlighting?

Yes. Code blocks are colour-highlighted and tables render cleanly. Export uses full GitHub Flavored Markdown, so README files and docs look proper.

Do my texts vanish if I close the tab?

No. Your text is auto-saved locally in your browser every two seconds. An accidentally closed tab means no loss.

Can I work on several documents at once?

Yes. Document tabs let you keep several Markdown texts open in parallel and switch between them with one click, without opening and closing files.
