Notice Periods Under German Law (BGB)
German statutory notice periods are regulated in §§ 620–630 BGB (German Civil Code). They vary by contract type and duration. Employment contracts follow §622 BGB with staggered periods based on length of service, starting at 4 weeks.
Typical Notice Periods by Contract Type
