What Bulk Compress does

Large image files are a quiet nuisance: the email attachment is too heavy, the website loads slowly, the cloud storage fills up. Running them through a compression tool one by one takes forever. Bulk Compress takes up to fifty images at once and turns them into a clean, smaller set of files.

Processing happens server-side with Sharp, the fast image library that handles large photo batches quickly too. So you do not get the sluggish browser processing but real compression that does not stall even at fifty files.

For formats you have a choice. Stay with the original, or convert deliberately to JPEG for compatibility, PNG for graphics, WebP for the best trade-off between size and quality, or AVIF for the most modern, strongest compression. The quality slider decides how hard the compression is, and optionally you can cap the maximum width to save extra space.

If you would rather not fiddle with sliders, reach for the presets. From email attachment through web-optimized, WhatsApp-ready and social media to print quality and archive copy, there is a ready setting for every purpose - including the decision whether metadata like EXIF is stripped. Stripping metadata is especially handy because location and camera data often sit unwanted in photos.

Once everything is compressed you download the images bundled as a ZIP instead of clicking fifty times. So a whole folder moves into your email, onto the website or into the archive in one go. A tool for anyone who regularly handles many images and does not want to touch each one.

Frequently asked questions

How many images can I compress at once?

Up to fifty images per run. Processing happens server-side with Sharp, so even a full batch finishes quickly without blocking your browser.

Which format should I pick?

JPEG is compatible everywhere, PNG suits graphics with clean edges, WebP offers the best trade-off between size and quality, and AVIF compresses the most. If unsure, take a preset - it sets format and quality to match the purpose.

Is EXIF data removed?

On request, yes. You can enable metadata stripping so location and camera data disappear from the images. That protects privacy and makes the files smaller too. Many presets have it switched on already.

Do I lose much quality?

You decide that with the quality slider. At high values the difference is barely visible, at low ones you save more space at the cost of sharpness. The presets strike a sensible middle ground for typical purposes.

Do I get the images individually or as a package?

As a package. All compressed images land bundled in one ZIP file you download with a click - no saving fifty files individually.
