What Wall Breaker does
Wall Breaker is our own ball-and-paddle game, written and drawn by us. At the top stands a wall of colourful file folders, at the bottom you move a stamp pad back and forth. The ball bounces off the walls, off the paddle and off every folder it hits. Every hit scores points.
Where the ball meets the paddle decides its direction. In the middle it goes almost straight up, at the edge it flies flat to the side. That is how you aim at the last folders hiding in a corner.
Once the wall is gone, the next level comes: one more row, from level two on grey binders that need two hits, and every third level with gaps the ball can slip through to get behind the wall. The ball gets a little faster each level but always stays catchable. Every cleared wall earns a bonus.
You have three balls. If one drops out at the bottom, the next one rests on the paddle again and you serve it when you are ready. Once all three are gone, it is closing time.
Steer with the arrow keys or A and D, Space serves the ball. With the mouse or a finger you simply drag the paddle across the field, a tap serves. Below the field there are also big buttons for left, right and serve. The speed does not depend on your screen.
P, or Space while the ball is flying, pauses, and if you leave the window the game pauses by itself. If you have set reduced motion in your system settings, there are no flying paper scraps. Everything runs in your browser, the game sends nothing to us.
Features
Our own game
Written and drawn by us, with no third-party graphics. The folders are empty, promise.
Endless levels
More rows, tough grey binders and gap patterns. The wall keeps coming back, like letters from the authorities.
Aim with the paddle
The middle sends it steeply up, the edge flat to the side. That is how you get the last folder.
Mouse, finger or keys
Drag the paddle, use the arrow keys or the big buttons below the field. Whatever suits you.
Same speed on every screen
The ball flies at the same speed at 60 and 144 Hz and never slips through a folder.
Respects reduced motion
With the system setting for reduced motion, the paper scraps are left out.

- 4
Clear the wall
When the last folder is gone, you get a bonus and the next level.
Who needs this
Frequently asked questions
How many balls do I have?
Three per game. If a ball drops out at the bottom, the next one rests on the paddle until you serve it.
What are the grey binders?
From level two on, the top rows hold grey binders with a ring. They need two hits before they disappear.
How do I aim the ball?
Through the spot where it hits the paddle. In the middle it bounces steeply up, the further out, the flatter it flies to the side.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Drag your finger across the field and the paddle follows. A short tap serves. The big buttons below the field work too.
Is my best score saved?
When you are signed in, your browser stores the best score on this device. Without signing in it only lasts while the window is open. We never get to see it either way.
