What Chat does
The forum is for the big questions with long answers. The chat is for everything that needs to get out now: a quick follow-up, a fast tip, the feeling of not facing the bureaucracy jungle alone. While the chat window is open, it fetches new messages every few seconds without reloading the page.
Conversations run in rooms, each with its own topic. That way the tax discussion does not blur into small talk and you are exactly where your concern belongs. Next to the room you see who has been writing there.
The handling is deliberately simple: rooms on the left, messages in the middle, the input with "Send" at the bottom. On a phone you pick the room from a list at the top, and the people in the room sit behind a button.
You can reply to single messages and delete your own messages again. Pinned notes are highlighted so everyone sees them.
As everywhere in the social area, the chat publicly shows only your freely chosen display name, never your legal name. The chat is part of the free tier of Werkzeu.ge - no extra subscription, no unlocking, just step in and join.
The chat replaces neither advice nor binding information. It is the place for the quick exchange, the gut feeling, the pointer to the right form. For the big documented answer there is the Community Forum, for reference knowledge there is the Wiki - the chat is the living pulse in between.

Is the chat free?
Yes. Reading and writing are part of the free tier of Werkzeu.ge, you only need a free account. Opening new rooms of your own comes with Plus.
What do I do if someone gets abusive?
Tap "Report" on the message, or "Report room" at the top, and pick the reason. The moderation takes a look and lets you know once it has decided.
Can others see my real name?
No. In the chat only your freely chosen display name is shown publicly. Your legal name stays private.
Are there direct messages?
Not yet. The chat currently only has shared rooms. Everyone in the room reads what you write.
How fast do new messages arrive?
Within seconds. While the chat window is open, it fetches new messages every five seconds, without reloading the page.
What is the difference from the forum?
The chat is for quick exchange. The Community Forum suits detailed questions with permanently searchable answers that others can still find later.
Does the chat replace professional advice?
No. The exchange in the chat is person-to-person help, not legal or tax advice. For binding questions consult a professional.
