Video Workshop

Seven video tools under one roof: compress, convert, trim, extract audio, build GIFs and record your screen. Everything runs right in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and you switch between tools with a click without reloading your file.

What Video Workshop does

Video work is rarely a single move. First you record the screen, then the file is too big to upload, so you compress it, then the other side wants MP4 instead of WebM, and in the end you still need a GIF for the chat. Until now that meant seven different websites, seven ad banners, uploading the file somewhere seven times over. The Video Workshop bundles exactly that chain into one surface.

The workshop is not a new tool that rebuilds everything from scratch. It is a workbench that gathers the existing single-purpose tools and lays them side by side. Tool rail on the left, the open tool on the right - Video Compressor, Video Converter, Video to Audio, Video to GIF, Video Trimmer, Screen Recorder and GIF to MP4. Each of them still exists on its own, but in the workshop you have all of them within reach in one place.

The most important point first: your videos never leave your device. All the processing happens locally in the browser, using WebAssembly and the capabilities your browser already ships with. No upload to someone else's server, no queue, no question about who is still holding the file afterwards. That is faster, because nothing has to travel down the wire, and it is data-frugal, because nothing leaves the device at all.

The Video Compressor brings big recordings down to a shareable size without turning them into a postage stamp. The Video Converter swaps between MP4, WebM, MOV and more so the file plays wherever it needs to. Video to Audio pulls out just the sound track, say for a podcast recording or the music from a clip. The Video Trimmer cuts the start and end without re-encoding the whole thing.

For anything that should move and play everywhere there is Video to GIF and the reverse, GIF to MP4. A GIF plays in every chat and preview, an MP4 is far leaner and shares more easily - depending on what you need, you go one way or the other. And the Screen Recorder captures your screen, a window or a single tab, right in the browser, with no extra program to install.

Because all the tools live in the same workshop, they work together in a natural order. Record the screen, then trim, then compress, finally get it into the right format - you click through the tool rail instead of hunting down a new page each time. The workshop also remembers which tool you had open last and reopens it for you next time.

The Video Workshop is part of the Plus tier and runs in German and English, with keyboard control and clean screen-reader output. No ad banner, no watermark, no artificial length limit that nudges you toward a subscription in the end anyway. A toolbox that simply works.

Who needs this

→Content folks who record a tutorial, trim, compress and get it into the right format.
→Anyone who wants to send a video by mail or chat but has to shrink it first.
→Podcasters who only need the audio track from a video recording.
→Support teams that record a quick screen clip to show where things go wrong.
→Social media makers who flip between a GIF and a lean MP4.

Frequently asked questions

Are my videos uploaded anywhere?

No. Every tool in the Video Workshop processes your file locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is stored without your action.

How is this different from the single tools?

The workshop builds nothing new, it bundles the existing video tools into one surface. You can still open each on its own, but in the workshop you have them all in one place and switch with a click.

Which video formats are supported?

Common formats like MP4, WebM and MOV. The Video Converter swaps between them so your file plays where you need it. The exact formats depend on the codecs your browser provides.

Can I process very large videos?

Because everything runs locally, the limit is your device's memory, not an upload cap. On a normal computer even longer recordings are fine, very large files simply take more time.

Do I need extra software to record my screen?

No. The Screen Recorder uses your browser's built-in capture. You choose screen, window or tab and record directly, without installing anything.
